Structure of the Corporation Council

The Coimbatore Corporation Council was constituted with a directly elected Mayor and Ward councillors on 25.11.2006. There are 72 wards and each ward is represented by an elected councillor. There are 45 men councillors and 27 women councillors. Council meeting is being conducted by the Worshipful Mayor minimum once in a month. There are six standing committees dealing with different subjects as listed below to assist the council.
